A Sunday To Remember...

I had the incredible honor of holding my sisters hand as she made her way to the front of our church and in front of almost 2000 people...surrendered her life to God!

It was also our baptism weekend so after the service...without hesitation...she said she wanted to be baptized. Brittani, Kyle, Peyton and I were there to watch as she took her first steps towards Christ!

IT'S OFFICIAL!!

After 3 "positive" pregnancy tests...

MY SISTER'S GONNA HAVE A BABY!!!!!!

She made the announcement at Thanksgiving
and blew us all away!

After 8 years of trying both on their own and through invetro...God blessed them and they were able to do it on their own!!

She's going Thursday to see a high risk doctor...
We need to PRAY PRAY PRAY that she's able to carry this baby full term!

I'm soooo happy for them...God is so good!!!

God's pouring out His blessings...

My heart is about to burst with joy right now!

I'm so happy because God is truly faithful...

I can't help but think about the butterfly story D.B. told at New Community a couple of weeks ago...(see my blog entry from 9-5-07 under GCC) I've watched my beautiful baby girl grow into such a stunning young woman. With that growth, she's had to push through some pretty tough struggles, but as with the butterfly...
Without struggle...there are no wings!

The struggles as painful as they've been, have produced something extraordinary within her and I can hardly wait to see her spread those beautiful wings and soar!!

Brittani, I heart you beyond words...

What an afternoon...

My dad left for a business meeting (over lunch) so I was at the office by myself when one of our customers came in to pick up product. I was waiting for him to put his power tailgate down so I could get him loaded...once the gate was down he went to jump up in the back of his truck but lost his balance and slipped off the back...he caught himself from hitting the ground but he immediately grabbed his leg. I asked him if he was alright and he yelled out "my leg!!!" I jumped off the forklift but was not prepared for what I was about to see!!! When he slipped...he caught his leg on a piece of the steel plate on the tailgate and it laid it right open :(

He had blood literally pouring out of his leg then he yells "I'm on blood thinner...get help I'm gonna bleed out!!!" I got him to sit down and the blood was still just pouring...I've never seen this much blood in my life! I ran to get a towel and he's still yelling for me to hurry cause he's gonna bleed out...I panicked and called 911 from my office (landline) so they told me to hang up and call from my cell...I called again and during the transfer I got disconnected...actually I got disconnected twice so I quickly called my dad and told him we had an emergency and I needed him...then I called 911 again and finally got thru to someone!

Before I knew it my dad was back and his training as a fireman kicked right in...he got him down on the ground and immediately applied pressure until the firemen and paramedics arrived. I didn't know how bad Bills leg was until the paramedics cut his pant leg off...man the cut was really horrible! They took him by ambulance to the ER after a few hours and 18 stitches I was able to pick him up at the hospital so he could drive back to Lafayette.

After it was over I talked with my dad and said I wished I was able to keep it together better...I knew that I should have done exactly what my dad did but I panicked the more Bill yelled that he was going to bleed out. Dad told me that you just have to stay calm so you can think clearly. I thank God for watching over us because this could have been seriously worse!!

I'm also so thankful for my dad...this is the 2nd time this week that he's stepped up and helped someone in need...Monday he helped a boy at the lake who's pontoon had a hole in it and was sinking!

prayer request update...

From the bottom of my heart I thank you for your prayers! I can see that God is really working some miracles...we have a way to go but I'm so encouraged by what's happened thus far!!

I love you all so very much!!

Wow what a day I've had so far...I've been stinkin challenged left and right!!

I seriously thought I was going to start crying so I just stopped what I was doing and decided to check my email...I clicked on the first one my eyes landed on...and it was this!!!

“For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun” (Isaiah 43:19, NLT)!

Can you see the "brand new thing" God is doing in your life? Sometimes we can see the hand of God moving, and sometimes the storms of life cloud can our vision. No matter where you are in life today, focus on this truth that God is working on your behalf behind the scenes! You can trust Him because He has always been faithful, and He always will be. His plan for you today is blessing. His plan is to give you a future and a hope. His plan is to do a new thing in your life. The bible says that it pleases God when we seek Him and His will. Ask the Lord to show His plan for you today. Ask Him to show you His favor and blessing. A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank you for your faithfulness and work in me, even when I don't see it. Thank you for doing a brand new thing in me today. I open my heart and trust you. I ask you to show me your plan today and keep me close to you. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Lookie what I found...

On my way home from Dad and Mom's I spotted this girl runnin down the road...I stopped to see if she would come to me and she did stop when I called her but when another lady stopped to help she took off in the cornfield.

We headed into the field but couldn't find her so I headed back out and whistled for her...then I just happend to looked down the road and saw her. When I whistled again...she stopped so the lady that was with me took off in her truck and grabbed her.

We tried calling Kryders to get information from her tag but they were closed so I took her with me and headed back to dad's and spent an hour on calls but I couldn't get any help or info until Monday :{ She's an older golden and she was a stinkin lover so of course I fell in love with her!!! Her tags were from 2005 so I didn't know if she was up to date on her shots and I didn't want to take a chance getting my dogs sick so I packed her back up in my car and mom and I headed back to where I found her and stopped at a couple of houses. Thankfully the last guy I talked to said that his cousin (who lived next door) had one kennel left that was open and she could stay with them until Monday and he would call Kryders.

God is good!!!

Preparing for the garage sale was very tiring BUT in the end was a huge success!
Thanks Dad and Mom for all your help by providing the "warehouse" for storage and setup :)
It was amazing...we had so many people that wished us success on our sale as well as complimenting us on how nice everything was displayed.

God really blessed us and I'm very very thankful!!

I got some really good news yesterday...

The new homeowners had called for a whole house inspection and I was really worried that they would have a laundry list of repairs. I found out there were only a couple of minor things (i.e. GFI outlet was sticking, small leak in the cold water feed, gutters needed to be cleaned) but the big thing was the roof. I had already replaced the entire one side of the roof after storm damage but I couldn't afford to have the other side done so I was scared of what they might find. Acutally it wasn't as bad as I worried about...then came my awesome news

They're NOT asking me to repair ANYTHING!!!

When I heard those words come out of my agent...I could hardly talk let alone breathe...then my excited laugh immediately turned into tears of joy :)

This is yet another reminder that GOD HAS EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL!!

PRAISE!

What a difference a day makes!

I filled in Friday night for a co-worker at the hotel...and around 10:30pm God created an opportunity for me to have a conversation with a really awesome guest! The minute I locked eyes with this lady I knew she was something special...then the more we talked...I felt how special she really was. When she shared her life with me and what God has done for her...it made me look at my life and I realized that my current problems are a mere inconvenience compared to what she has to endure on a daily basis!

I worked again Saturday morning and had a brief conversation with Pam as she was heading to a conference at Bethel and I didn't see her again until the next morning...

WELCOME TO ONE OF MY BEST DAYS IN A LONG TIME...

Uggh...ok well due to the wonderful DST I had to wake up an hour earlier....even though I reset my clock before I went to bed and the clock said 5:30am...my body knows that 5:30am is really 4:30am :} Ohhh how I dreaded getting up that early and I thought I was going to carry that mood with me all day...that is until I set out in my car and only had to stop for 1 out of 24 stop lights from my house to the hotel!!!! This was going to be a GREAT day!!!

Check outs went as usual until I received a call from a guest (by the name of Dee) who was desperately looking for her FedEx package. I looked everywhere but I couldn't find it...she called FedEx and traced it and told me that one of our Front Desk Agents signed for it on Friday. I looked and looked and looked and couldn't find the package anywhere. I did keep walking past this "Dell" box that was in our GM's office but I didn't think anything of it since we had just gotten new computers. Then it hit me...our computers are HP's NOT Dells so I went back in and turned the box around and saw the FedEx sticker on the other side with Dee's name on it :) I took the box down to her room and left it out side the door.

A short time later she came back down to thank me and I just happen to be talking to Pam and her husband Greg who are home school entrepreneurs. They've actually designed and patened the board game HOMESCHOOLOPOLY...so in my excitement over the game I showed it off to Dee. Come to find out...Dee is the CFO of a Christian college in New Mexico...the next thing I know they're all networking. Then it was time for Pam and her husband to head back to South Carolina...we hugged but didn't say good bye it was "see ya later" as we promised to keep in touch.

Dee stayed at the front desk with me and we talked for a bit...then she surprised me by asking what time I worked til because she wanted to take me to lunch. We ended up going over to Jumpin Juice & Java where we talked for almost 2 1/2 hours...it was a more than just a "get to know ya" talk...she opened my eyes and helped me to see the nasty lies that Satan's been feeding me and she filled my heart with promise :) She told me that God must really love me if he sent Pam from South Carolina and her from New Mexico to touch my heart...and you know what...I believe her because Sunday was one of the happiest days I've had in a long time!

Dee pointed out that this was such a God thing because her packages from FedEx are ALWAYS in a FedEx box...not a "Dell" box...and had it been in the FedEx box...she would have been given it on Friday and we probably wouldn't have really met.

THIS WAS SOOOO GOD!
I'M SOOOOO THANKFUL THAT HE BROUGHT PAM AND DEE INTO MY LIFE!!!!!
