Kyle's Broken Arm...

This afternoon (ok yesterday now that it's 12:25am) Brandee took Kyle to the playground...he was standing on the end of the slide when he decided to jump off. The slide was wet and he slipped and hit the ground and landed on his arm.

Brandee knew right away it was broken...
After several hours of waiting Kyle went in for surgery a little after 10pm to get it reset

The first thing he said to me when I walked in was...
"Hi Aunt Angel...I broke my arm...wanna see it"
I took a peek and you could definitely tell it was broke :[
He was so good (well except when they had to put the I.V. poor guy)

This is on his way to surgery...
questioning all the way what was going to happen next...

After the anesthesiologist was done explaining what the procedure was, he was standing off to the side talking with 2 other nurses about Kyle. Brandee and Terry are talking to each other when Kyles zones in on the nurses and he say's...

"I heard that and is it gonna hurt!?!"

We all laughed so stinkin hard at him!

His surgery lasted about 20-25 minutes and thankfully the doctor was able to reset it without having to cut him open!

After x-ray

So now he will be in this special splint for 2 weeks then he has to go back and they will cast his arm...he will be in a casted for 6-8 weeks

First thing he asked for when he woke up was for a ride in a wheelchair...Miss Judy his nurse was more than happy to escort him all the way to the car! She said he was her favorite patient :]

Oh my goodness! This post brought tears to my eyes. What a little trooper. What an incredible break. What a freak fall. What a great doctor. It is so good to see his big smile, everything is going to be OK.
